Missy Elliott sales shoot up 996% in US after Super Bowl

Missy Elliott has enjoyed a huge sales boost in the US after performing at the Super Bowl.

The rapper was a special guest during Katy Perry's half-time slot in Arizona on Sunday (February 1).

The American Football show had a TV audience of over 114 million and a number of her songs and albums have had sales boosts.

Billboard have confirmed that Elliott's overall sales increase amounted to 996%.

In the week ending February 1, Elliott sold 2,000 albums and 71,000 digital downloads.

The former is a 2,546% increase on the previous week, whilst the latter is a jump of 978%.

Further sales boosts are expected to show in Billboard's next chart, which looks at the week ending February 8.
