Morrissey cancels gigs due to bleeding ulcer

Morrissey has pulled a number of gigs in the US after suffering from a bleeding ulcer.

The British singer had previously cancelled shows in Michigan on Thursday (January 24) and Minneapolis on Friday (January 25) and an event in Chicago on Saturday (January 26) due to an apparent illness in the band.

A representative for the Smiths man has now confirmed that the singer has a bleeding ulcer and that he is due to make a full recovery. They said:

"Morrissey is expected to make a full recovery and thanks everyone concerned for their support during this time."

He is due to cancel a further six shows in the US, with shows in North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska all pulled.

He is expected to resume touring on February 9 in Las Vegas.
