Muse to "move forward" with new album

Muse plan to "move forward" with their sound and style on their forthcoming new album.

The three-piece rock band already expressed their excitement at recording the collection of songs in London and have now revealed that it will be different to their critically acclaimed back catalogue, telling the NME that "it might be softer rock":

"Matt (Bellamy) showed me a few chords recently," he said. "Who knows, it might be softer rock, but then it's up to me and Chris to make it heavy again. A heavy rock lullaby! But I'm sure it will move forward in some way."

The 'Plug In Baby' stars, who won an Ivor Novello award this afternoon, also added that there is no set release date, but the album will definitely surface in 2012:

"It takes as long as it takes really, because you have to love it before you can just chuck it out there and into the real world. But definitely next year."
