Rapper Nicki Minaj released her new track 'Pills N Potions' today (May 21) and revealed that it's a 'tragic love story' that came about after she realised how much her life has truly changed. 

Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, the hitmaker explained that while working on her new record she did some deep thinking about the people that surround her and everything that has happened throughout her career, and admitted that it made everything she wrote very reflective and honest:

”It’s kind of like a tragic love story… I just kind of feel like when I was working on the album, I started realising how much things have changed, how much people change. And how people come in and out of your life… I’ve just been reflecting a lot. I love that it has that feeling of ‘No matter what, I still love. There’s still love there.’"

When asked if her new album, 'The Pink Print', has a release date yet, Minaj added that it should drop this year although she can't specify a month at the moment: “I’ll definitely drop it this year. I’d rather not say the date just yet.”
