Nicki Minaj for three-part reality show

Following the speculation that suggested rap sensation Nicki Minaj was set to star in a reality TV series, it has been confirmed that she will instead be involved in a three-part special.

Earlier this week, the 'Starships' superstar teased that she was "considering" signing on to a fly-on-the-wall style programme and now television channel E! has revealed that Minaj will feature in a short series set to be broadcast later this year.

Although very few details have been released on the project, E! explained that the "trilogy of specials" will begin in November.

She is currently a judge on the new American Idol panel and recently described the opportunity as "a milestone for hip-hop":

"It's a milestone for me; it's a milestone for hip-hop; it's a milestone for young black women. Has there ever been a black woman [judging] on the show? This is a show that 20 million people watch so I feel like we should be represented on that show and I'm very proud of my decision to do it."
