Rap superstar Nicki Minaj has revealed that while she was glad to announce her departure from 'American Idol' after just one season she loved the experience and took a lot away from it.

Speaking to E! News, the 'Starships' beauty confessed that she 'learned a lot' working as a judge and mentor on the TV talent show and is happy that she's now able to return to her music career without any trouble:

"It was a blessing. I had a wonderful time and I learned a lot about myself; I learned a lot about the world's perception of me. And I think it was a great thing for hip-hop to see me transcend, and then I can come back and still do the BET Awards and still be authentic in what I do."

Minaj admitted that it was amazing to get a "chance to see kids fulfil their dreams and be part of that" and confessed that she doesn't know who will replace her, adding "God bless them!"
