Noel Gallagher was 'so f*cking sad' to see Beady Eye split

Noel Gallagher has admitted that the demise of Beady Eye greatly saddened him.

The Liam Gallagher fronted group called it quits earlier this year after releasing two albums following the split of Oasis in 2009.

Speaking to Q, brother Noel said that despite Oasis' acrimonious split, he felt sorry that Beady Eye never worked out.

He said: "I’m very f*cking sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work. I wanted it to work for them. I was out with [guitarist] Gem Archer the other night. The vibe I’m getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising."

Gallagher added that he hopes his brother embarks on a future solo career:

"I’m amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won’t stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record – put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it."
