Noel Gallagher on Oasis album 'Be Here Now': 'We should never have made that record then'

Musician Noel Gallagher has revealed that Oasis should never have created their 1997 album Be Here Now when they did

He made the comments during a half-hour VEVO video segment, which is available to watch on his official channel, and explained that in hindsight they could have benefitted from some time off between studio sessions, tours and releases:

"I only say this now, looking back on it after 20 years.... we should never have made that record then. 'Cause we came off the back of that American tour which was, again, the third tour in a row that we never completed. And I came back to the airport and the fucking world's press was there and instead of going, 'Right, we should just go our separate ways for a year or two,' we decided like idiots to go straight into the studio."

The Oasis documentary, entitled 'Supersonic', is out now and Noel's brother Liam Gallagher described the interviews for the project as being therapeutic. Director Mat Whitecross said: "Liam kept saying, 'This is like therapy I never had; I'm going to come back next week'. I kept on saying we should pretend the film's not coming out!"
