Olly Murs says he has 'upped it' on new album

Olly Murs reckons he has upped his game on his new album.

The singer recently confirmed plans to release 'Never Been Better' on November 24.

It seems the Brit's record name is an apt one, with the former X Factor star telling the Mirror at an album playback this week:

"The hardest thing about doing a new album is trying to do something new, something different. I've upped it."

Murs meanwhile also revealed that he co-wrote a song with veteran rocker Paul Weller for the record.

He said: "I was at a gig and Paul came up to me and said, 'I loved the version of Broken Stones you did'. He said, 'Are you writing at the moment? I’ll send you some songs'.

"Some people might go, 'Oh, you're from X Factor, you don’t write your own songs, rah, rah, rah' - I felt like Paul was going to be one of those characters, but he wasn’t. We had a right laugh and we wrote a song together - I think that's what it should be. It shouldn't be where you're from, or where you've come from, it should be right here, right now."
