Olly Murs has been confirmed to perform at this year's BRIT Awards ceremony. 

The hitmaker, who spent the last months of 2011 presenting on Xtra Factor, took to his official Twitter account last night to share the exciting news with his fans and wrote:

"Ok....OK...some of you are so inpatient [sic]... I can confirm I have been added to perform at this years BRIT AWARDS 2012....absolutely buzzzing! Be great to perform & win brit!! But I need all the fans to vote!! I know its a tough category!! #everylittlehelps"

Speaking to Capital FM last night, January 25, he added: "Even getting a nomination for a BRIT for the second year in a row is a dream come true - I can't believe I'm performing this year too! I'm really excited, it's going to be a brilliant show."

The event will be held at London's O2 Arena on February 21 and Murs is also in the running to win the British Single title, for which he will compete against the likes of Ed Sheeran, Jessie J and Adele.
