Gabrielle Aplin, Olly Murs on course to top singles, albums charts

Gabrielle Aplin is set to receive her first number one single this weekend with her cover of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's 'The Power Of Love'.

The track, which currently features on the John Lewis Christmas advert, is currently on course to top the singles chart, knocking this week's number one, 'Troublemaker' by Olly Murs, down to two.

However, Murs is still top of the midweek albums chart at present, beating out albums from Michael Bublé, whose 'Christmas' is just behind at two, One Direction and Rihanna.

One Direction are also still within the top five in the singles chart with 'Little Things', while Bruno Mars is at three with 'Locked Out Of Heaven', Labrinth is at four with the Emeli Sandé-featuring 'Beneath Your Beautiful', and Tulisa sits at 12 with 'Sight Of You', which she performed on The X Factor last weekend.

The reality show judge's debut solo album 'The Female Boss' is not currently faring so well in the tally, looking set to chart at 22 with only 7,000 copies sold so far.
