Olly Murs: "I won't do a Bieber and turn up late"

Olly Murs has promised his fans that he will never turn up late on stage at a gig.

As previously reported, Canadian superstar Justin Bieber provoked the ire of furious parents and fans after hitting stage late for a recent London O2 Arena show.

It meant that some sections of the crowd had to leave early to get transport home for school the next day.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Murs said that he is always aware of the plight of his fans and strives to start and finish in a timely manner. He said:

"There's got to be a reason for why Justin went on so late, as two hours is a long time, but he's young and travelling the world."

The 'Army of Two' star added: "I'm really conscious of finishing on time, as I hope kids get home alright for school the day after. Sometimes I meet fans after a show and girls of 11 or 12 look like death warmed up, their eyes are all puffy and they say: 'I loved your show, but I'm so tired and have school in the morning'."
