Emerging singer Robinkss has released her brand new single titled “Crushed.” On the emotional track, the 16-year-old details a journey through new-found love. Check out her interview below!

Tell us about yourself and your music?

I'm Korean American and a junior in high school. I'm into all kinds of activities, art, fashion, music, etc. My music is inspired by a multitude of genres: RnB, rap, and pop to name a few. My music is especially inspired by those three genres. If I were to describe my music.... probably hype-y chill? The type of music you can chill out to but also get into.

How would you describe your sound?

I don't know if I could describe my style. I don't think I've done enough to really piece together what I am. Maybe smooth?

Talk about the experience making your single?

I made this single some time ago. I didn't think it was ready and so I took some time to really get it to the point where I'm proud of it. I worked the majority of it during my summer break and rerecorded the song a few times and raised the key to what it is now. It was a really good experience. I thought I knew the process of making a song until I made Crushed. It was different and something I could totally engulf my time into doing.

What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

Current projects would be my EP. A few more songs to add, planning out what I should do, definitely excited.

What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?

Finally finishing the song would be one highlight. The other would be the wide acceptance of my song. Within a few weeks getting 14 thousand plays is insane.

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?

Can I choose like 50? I'm joking. But to name a few, BTS, Rihanna, SZA, Rich Brian, and Billie Eilish.

Name something random that people do not know about you?

I made a mini-series of Vulvas. I made a vulva out of felt, clay, and stain glass.

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

I see so much difference in the indie scene. It continues to amaze me how varied music can be.

What can we expect from you in the future?

An EP and definitely more music.
