He has since been honing his skills and perfecting his craft, preparing himself for a Global Takeover as a successful independent artist and emcee. Check out the interview and music video below!

Tell us about yourself and your music?

My name is Anthony Mitchell, artist name Ant Tha Giant. I'm a rapper, singer, songwriter, recording artist and actor from the Bronx, NY. I've been making music since 2012 but started getting serious with it in late 2015. Since then I've been honing my skills and perfecting my craft everyday aiming to get better as an emcee and overall artist. My mission is comprised of a few components: To build a global following behind my music, build a legacy for myself, spark a positive change in people's lives and in this world with my music and to live comfortably and efficiently off of my music. I would not classify my music into a specific genre of Hip-Hop/Rap because I vary in my style of song and rap in general. One moment, I may hit you with a gritty Boom Bap type of NY style with raw and in your face bars. Another moment, I may soften the tone and sing on a track or come with conscience material to make people think heavy on certain topics. I love to bring different ranges to the forefront with my music and not trap myself in a box.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound is raw, energetic, catchy and often times melodic as I blend rapping with singing a lot of times in my songs. I have a heavy focus on lyricism, in depth story telling, witty wordplay, complex rhyme schemes and I deliver this through a various set of flows.

Talk about the experience making your single?

Oh it was fun making my new single "Betta Act Like Ya Know"! The instrumental for this song was created by Reezy of the Still Movin label. Shout out to him for the heat. The beat though is a dark and energetic trap type beat! I love rapping over these type of beats because I can just let loose on them, so when I heard it, I automatically knew I was going to do some major damage to it.I wanted to make a song that was raw but at the same time had a main stream type of feel to it, which is something different than I usually do. I make catchy music but it's never really in a mainstream direction, so I just wanted to change it up a bit with this one. I feel this song strongly shows my continued growth as an artist and I'm only getting better with each day and song I create! I also have a music video out on YouTube for this song which is currently at 3.4K views! I'm really excited that it's being received well!

What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

I'm currently working on a few singles that I'm looking to put out soon so stay tuned for that.I'm also working heavy on my new album "Wrath of a Giant" which I plan on having out by Fall 2018. I don't currently have any shows underway as I would like to focus more on the creation of new music and setting up some things on the business side of the spectrum. I can't stay away from performing too long though so I will be back on stage before you know it!

What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?

I released my debut project "Welcome to Ant'z World" in early 2017 as well as created my own merchandise line with hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more, which allowed me to be able to pay bills with my music for the first time ever in my life so I was very excited and happy about that!

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?

My ideal collaborations would be getting on a track with Eminem, Ludacris, Hopsin, Royce Da 5'9", Jarren Benton, Tech N9ne,Logic, Demrick, Dizzy Wright or Big K.R.I.T.

I love all of these guys' music and would be honored to get on a track with any of these dudes.

Name something random that people do not know about you?

My favorite type of movies are animated movies,Lion King being the all time favorite! I'm a huge kid at heart and I ain't ashamed to show it! Haha!

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

One thing I've learned is you really need to do your homework in order to succeed in this game. I used to focus so much on just the musical aspect of everything but I quickly learned that the music business is 80% business and 20% about the music so I really had to shift gears and educate myself on how to win with my music in the business element as well. I'm still learning new tricks of the trade as I progress on a day to day but I have a lot more knowledge about what I'm doing now than when I first started.

What can we expect from you in the future?

You can look forward to some new singles coming soon to bless your ears with, more music videos, new merch and that "Wrath of a Giant" album in the 4th quarter of 2018!Stay Tuned!

Thank you for the interview as well! Much love and many blessings!
