G-Baby - Interview & West Palms music video

Read G-Baby interview below:

Tell us about you and your music.

I was born in Salt Lake City Utah, raised in & representing Topeka Ks. Grew up in & out of poverty and institutions, both parents deceased by the time i was 16, I'm just out here tryna beat the odds. My music is a mix of early 2000's punchline/metaphor rap fused with new school lyrics and style over all diff types of beats. I like to bring a happy uplifting vibe with my music and keep my audience entertained with witty lines and melodic tunes. Also enjoy mixing in urban hood sounds into some of my more darker/club songs in a relate-able fashion.

How would you describe your sound?

I would describe it as lil wayne meets 50 cent haha Idk really I just be spitting shit honestly.

Talk about the experience making your single.

It was dope man, I linked with the videographer Logan Meis while he was still located in the mid-west on a previous project "$unny $ide Up" & it really opened up some dope avenues for me, after that started bringing in numbers he told me to get out to Cali for another one with him after he re-located to Hollywood, so I pretty much went off the basis of a west coast feel and my engineer Sacred found the beat the a soundclick producer Yacht Club and we went from there. I knew what kind of video I had in mind with heavy beach vibes and all that so I had my first real attempt at writing a song to the image in my head. Then I shot out west & we linked up at Manhattan Beach in LA & went crazy. I actually directed the whole thing myself, even buried myself in   the sand n shit, it was lit.

What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

Right now Im working on mastering the marketing side of music and just growing my fan base, I recently linked up with a P.R out of New York Ari Armani & Co. & they have been opening some big doors for me as far as bigger feature & show opportunities, as well as 1% P.R getting my music out to the masses with bigger platforms and furthering my social media presence. Right now Im working on a solo project heavily, should be distributed thru Universal & Ari Armani sometime after the   beginning of the year. Also the long awaited "Young Goats" EP from myself & my brotha King Jables at KSP (King Shit Productions)

What has been your biggest highlight in your music career thus far?

Well honestly to me this whole year been crazy to me, I've gotten my first jump into headlining shows and having a demand for my name as far as paid features and merch. Also the numbers my team has been putting up with all our drops, shits crazy. Hittin up LA was a major step for me personally but getting flown to NY by Ari, being treated like a king during my stay and recording at Jungle City Studios ending in the distro deal with Universal probably takes the cake.

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)

Ideally, right now I'd like to get on a track with Pouya or Yung Pinch. It'd be crazy to get something with like Cudi or Wayne in the future tho.

Name something random that people do not know about you?

I was paralyzed from the waist down as a kid and have a rare disability that i hardly talk about. I never should have been able to walk, let alone jump across stage with the crowd singing my shit. Always had a way with beating the odds. Also Im obsessed with Milk, its my favorite thing on earth fam.

What's one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

Put your money in the right places.

What can we expect from you in the future?

Consistency, I got lots of videos ready to drop and even more in the works! This aint the last yall will be seeing of me.
