Ben Bacardi - Interview & 1978

Tell us about yourself and your music?

I grew up in Queens Ny. I have been recording hip hop music since the age of 14. I love hip-hop as well as r@b and a lot of other types of music. As early as a kid I know when I heard a song for the first time if it was going to be a hit or not.

My music is original and has strong lyrical content and has meaning and I hope people see that when they listen to it.

How would you describe your sound?

My sound is definitely original but is heavily influenced by East Coast Ny Hip Hop. My lyrics are well thought out and growing up in Queens I’ve always looked up to artists like LL Cool J and Nas and Q- Tip and tried to mirror myself after them.

Talk about the experience making your single?

Making my single was a fun experience and definitely high energy in the studio.

What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?

Currently, we are promoting the Album “ 1978” that dropped July 12th.

We are working on filming a few videos and we are booking some shows to promote the project.

I’m also working on a new Ep that’s being executive produced by Dj Shay from Griselda records who has Benny the Butcher and Westside Gunnn.

What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?

My biggest highlight has been just recent to have my music on all music platforms and available to everyone worldwide has been a great achievement for me.

Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?

I would love to work with 50 cent and Cam’ron as well as Nicki Manaj and Action Bronson.

Name something random that people do not know about you?

I love cars as well as fashion and I’m a huge Knicks fan.

What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?

Being in the indie music industry you learn the value of true work and promotion. Without a big machine behind you, you have to believe in yourself and constantly push yourself.

What can we expect from you in the future?

In the future, you can expect mainstream success and Grammy awards.
