Tell us about yourself and your music?
I’d like to say that a lot of my inspiration comes from love. I believe that I was born to lead with love in all aspects of my life & that my purpose is to be the messenger. This is where the name Charlene Amour comes from. I feel that I have personally experienced a lot and I’ve personally shouldered a lot of emotions for people in my life when it comes to love & I hope that people find healing when it comes to my music and love.
How would you describe your sound?
I’d say my sound is very pop rnb inspired with a classic vintage feel. I listen to all types of music and I think that you can hear that when it comes to my music.
Talk about the experience making your single?
I wrote this single when I first fell inlove with someone and I finished writing it after we broke up which was interesting. The song evokes emotions through the beginning of the relationship and the emotions left after.
What are you currently working on? Any new projects? Shows?
I am currently working on releasing my EP ‘My Favourite Summer’ and a showcase that I am putting together which will collectively bring together the arts community in my city by showcasing visuals arts & performing arts.
What has been your biggest highlight in your music career this far?
I would say that I am always striving for my biggest highlight of my music career but for me the highlight would be that I am just continuously doing what I was always scared to do.
Name your ideal collaboration: mainstream or independent artist(s)?
I would love to collaborate with James bay, Brent Faiyaz & 6lack & I would love to write with Jhené Aiko.
That I’m actually a super relaxed person.
What’s one thing you have learned or discovered while being in the indie music scene/industry?
You can’t take anything personal and you have to know who you are.
What can we expect from you in the future?
I have a lot of projects that I am ready release.
