Abi Mia - a singer-songwriter from London- launched onto the independent music scene with her debut single ‘Fly Your Way’ in October 2020. She has followed that up with singles ‘This Life’, ‘Enough is Enough’ and ‘Here To Stay’ available across all major platforms, with her newest single 'Make Myself Tall' now released.

Abi Mia is thrilled to share her upcoming single ‘Make Myself Tall’ with the world. It is an empowering song about the realisation that you don’t need people in your life who think they are better than you who always put you down. Just because they think their way is right, it doesn’t mean it is the only way to succeed. It is up to us to make ourselves tall and not to let others put us down. The powerful vocals in this track with the harmonies’ layers promising to enhance this empowering and uplifting message.

Abi Mia's next single 'Checking In' is also being released on April 30th and was inspired by her almost daily Zoom chats she has been enjoying with her 93-year-old grandpa over the past year, something which has become more poignant as time goes on.

'I wrote it from the perspective of talking to him so it has an intimate, comforting feel to it and the message of the song it is to check in with friends and family on a regular basis even if they seem ok as you never know when someone may be struggling, just need a chat or to feel connected with other people. Recent times have made this more prevalent but it has always been very important to me.' Abi Mia

Taking influence from powerful female artists such as Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and Demi Lovato - Abi Mia has developed her unique songwriting and performance style. She also performs with a live piano/keyboard at some of her shows, something which sets her apart from some artists within the genre. Abi Mia writes her original songs from the heart - always inspired by her experiences and events happening in the world. She also finds it essential to get the emotion across in her performance to connect with the audience, something reflected in her lyrics and singing style.

Abi Mia’s debut single ‘Fly Your Way’ was written at a crossroads in her life when she decided it was time to play to her strengths, reach for her dreams and not worry about what other people may presume or expect of her. It was the first song she had written in more than ten years, and it felt like 'coming home' to what she was supposed to be doing. ‘Fly Your Way’ is an empowering, coming of age track aiming to uplift and encourage the listener to reach for their dreams no matter what others say.

'Here to Stay', her previous release, is a deeper, more emotional track than her previous releases. It is about how we all have things that have happened to us in the past that we want to forget, but just when we think we have forgotten, it comes back into our minds when we least expect it. It is sometimes hard to truly move on from negative things from our past completely, they may always be at the back of our mind, but we will try our best. To reflect this message ‘Here To Stay’ has a more vulnerable, stripped back sound as she believes it is crucial and healthy to express all types of emotion through music and generally in life and feels that many can connect to the feeling of the song.

When it comes to Abi Mia's background, music and singing have been part of her life since she was of school age and has always been a much-loved hobby. Another passion has always been Health and Fitness, which she has turned into a successful Personal Training business as well as competing in Weightlifting competitions. Abi Mia is now pursuing her music professionally, writing and performing songs that can inspire, uplift, empower and bring people together. Abi Mia's goal is to become a published songwriter for other notable artists, films, and adverts and become a successful and respected performer and artist in her own right.
