Orbital to return with full tour and new album in 2012

Electro duo Orbital have confirmed that 2012 will see them get back out on the road for a special tour.

The stars also announced that they will release a new album - their first in over 8 years - and Paul Hartnoll described the music they're currently making as "a kaleidoscope of everything we like about electronic music."

He continued, "but the biggest influence on this album has been two years of playing live, listening to old Orbital music. We wanted to make music that we would like to play live. It had to flow and ebb like a live set."

They have already released a track, named 'Never', from the as of yet untitled record and will perform 6 gigs across the UK in April 2012. Catch Orbital at the following venues:

  • April 5 - Manchester Academy
  • April 6 - O2 Academy Leeds
  • April 7 - O2 ABC Glasgow
  • April 8 - O2 Academy Liverpool
  • April 9 - Cambridge Corn Exchange
  • April 10 - London's Royal Albert Hall

Tickets for the shows will go on sale at 9am on Friday, October 28 and you can check out their new song, 'Never', here:
