Paramore's Hayley Williams: 'I warm up to avoid hurting my neck while head-banging'

Songstress Hayley Williams, of Paramore fame, has revealed that her head-banging on stage is often so vigorous that she runs the risk of injury so has to take the time to stretch it out before performing.

During an interview with Britain's Daily Star newspaper, the rocker explained that she always warms up fully before taking the stage to avoid injury from her high octane performances: "These days I have to do stretches so I don't hurt my neck head banging. I'm loving it but I might collapse at one of these shows."

Williams and her band will headline this year's Reading and Leeds Festival in England, which will take place across the weekend of August 22-24. Other bands confirmed to play include Imagine Dragons, Jimmy Eat World, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Arctic Monkeys.

The 'I'm Into You' hitmaker recently told Nylon magazine that the band have kept in touch with the fans that used to follow them around when they first started out, and that there's a great connection between them that is really supportive:

"We've actually kept in touch with those people who have come to the first shows...they're our friends by now. Except now they come and they've graduated from college and have jobs and are covered in tattoos. It's awesome."
