Soundtrack by John Corigliano: Perseverance Releases Rejected Film Score Called “Music From the Edge”

Perseverance Records is releasing “Music From the Edge,” a score composed by John Corigliano. The music was rejected by the film's new producer after the movie was heavily re-shot and re-edited. Now, this score is available for the first time – and at Perseverance Records exclusively. With 11 tracks and a running time of 38 minutes, the CD is available at a price of $19.95.

Robin Esterhammer, owner of Perseverance Records, says: “We can’t mention which movie this score was from, but I am sure you will be able to figure it out. You probably have Howard Shore's replacement score already, and now you have the chance to decide which one was a better fit to the movie.”

In addition to “Music From the Edge,” award-winning composer John Corigliano has written just three film scores. The first one for “Altered States” (1980) was nominated for an Oscar, the second one for “Revolution” (1985) won the British Anthony Asquith Award. For the soundtrack from “The Red Violin” (1998), John received a Canadian Genie Award, a Prix Jutra and an Oscar. In 2001, he got the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his second symphony.
