Pet Shop Boys reign supreme in best covers poll

Pet Shop Boys have topped a list of the best covers of all time.

The Brits put their own spin on the classic tune 'Always On My Mind' in 1987 and it has now come first in a poll run by BBC Music to find the top cover in history.

The song was originally penned by John Christopher, Mark James and Wayne Carson, with the track made famous by Elvis Presley.

Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails' 'Hurt', which was released in 2003, came second in the poll.

The Stranglers' version of 'Walk On By' followed in third and Jimi Hendrix's 'All Along The Watchtower' - written by Bob Dylan - came fourth.
