P!nk worried she was "a dork and a fraud" during new album sessions

'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' hitmaker P!nk has admitted that working on new material for her forthcoming album made her nervous because she has been out of the spotlight for a while.

Speaking to the Rolling Stone about her new project, entitled 'The Truth About Love', the star explained that she was worried her vocal abilities had weakened or that people would think she's a "dork and a fraud":

"Every album, I'm worried that I'm a dork and a fraud - what if I can't sing anymore? Then I stop thinking and start playing guitar, and I realise that it's OK to suck, and move forward. Then it clicks and I'm like, 'I'm f**king awesome!'"

Despite her initial apprehension, P!nk added that she's self aware and knows how to handle her emotions so was able to channel her feelings into the songs she wrote for the record:

"It's very easy for me to tap into 'go f**k yourself'. Maybe that's the only way I feel powerful. I'm in the best place I've ever been in my life, and I'd say it's 80 per cent happiness and 20 per cent sheer confusion and fear that I'll f**k it up somehow. I'm consumed by my emotions."

Yesterday (August 1), she congratulated the U.S. women's gymnastics team for their gold medal success and tweeted: "Congrats to the USA women's gymnastics team on their win. You competed hard!!!!!! Well done"
