P!nk keeps a "F**k you" bank account to keep control of her career

Singer P!nk has revealed that some financial advice given to her by LA Reid at the beginning of her career has been invaluable over the years.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, she explained that the music mogul told her to deposit half of her earnings into an account so that she would be able to skip out on things she didn't want to do in the music industry:

"When I first started, L.A. Reid said, ‘Make sure you put money into your F**k You account. That’s the account that, one day when people ask you to do things you don’t want to do, you say “F**k you.” I make sure that my F**k You account is okay, so that you never have to make decisions based on money. I feel like that’s where people kill their careers.”

She also revealed that chart positions aren't something she uses to measure the success of her music because singles sales are often flighty:

"I’m never the kind of person who’s sitting at home reading the charts and basing how I feel about myself or even my career on stats. I’ve always based it on, 'Am I doing the best that I can do? And how’s my F**k You account?'”
