P!nk's staying true to her roots: "I don't live in the lap of luxury"

Songstress P!nk has admitted that despite having an incredibly successful music career and being in a solid financial position she won't ever turn her back on her roots.

Speaking to USA Today about how far she's come, the 'Blow Me (One Last Kiss)' superstar explained that she was raised in a "working class military family" and still has the same views, issues and standards now as she did back then:

"I'm very much in the trenches, and I don't live in the lap of luxury. I come from a working-class military family. We watch the news and read the paper and vote, so there's always something to be upset about."

"I always have a certain amount of angst in my back pocket,” she added.

She also talked about being a strong-headed woman in a male-dominated industry, revealing that it's tougher to be taken seriously and have your voice heard:

"It's harder if you have a vagina. An ambitious man is admirable and respected. An ambitious woman is difficult and emotional. There's a boys' club, even in music. You have to think before you talk. I can be loud, but I've learned you can have quiet power."
