P!nk's heart "broken" over cancelled tour date

P!nk has apologised to fans for her cancelled Birmingham show, admitting her heart is "absolutely broken".

The chart-topping superstar was forced to postpone her April 22 tour date at the LG Arena but it has now been completely cancelled due to medical reasons.

Last month P!nk tweeted: "I have an ear and respiratory infection. I am not a person that takes cancellations lightly - and I apologise to anyone who was inconvenienced by my illness. Thanks to all my genuine people out there sending love."

Today, the songstress took to the social networking site, promising fans: "this is the last from me on this subject."

She wrote: "To all of the fans/friends/people/ticket buyers from the Birmingham show that I had to cancel: and I say "had" because I had absolutely no choice in the matter, no control over the circumstances, and physically could not get my sick ass on stage, because of an ear infection and chest infection all at the same time, and even a doctor told me I could not go on stage wether I wanted to or not: To all of you:

I sincerely apologize, AGAIN, for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Sincerely. I actually rode by the venue, and saw some of you in line, and there was not a f**king thing I could do about any of it. Except cry. My heart was absolutely broken (sic)."

P!nk also went on to reveal she has been receiving a lot of hate mail, but assured fans that she "does not cancel and I do not take it for granted how much trouble people go to- from spending hard earned money they don't have, to travel expenses and time and planning, etc."

The star signed off with the somewhat tongue-in-cheek statement: "Love always, Alecia the human also known as p!nk."
