Since releasing their feel-good anthem ‘G.T.L’ earlier in the year, Good Time Locomotive demonstrate a more delicate side to their creativity in their latest single ‘Stay Close’. Keeping their creative momentum high, the outfit get ready to unleash their sixth single of the year.

A peering synth lead and gripping piano chops pave the way for crunching guitar chords and punishing drum pounds to open ‘Stay Close’. Quickly pulling back the sonic reigns, the heartfelt lead vocal begins to paint a colourful picture of love and redemption before building up the tension once again to unveil a climactic chorus. The single comes punctuated with heavy guitar riffs between retrospective lyricism and hip-hop-enthused rap to enthuse a dynamic edge across the airwaves. Leaning into a broader set of influences, ‘Stay Close’ sees the group lean into synth-pop, ballad and even nu-metal flavours to forge another masterful offering.

Speaking about the single, the band comment, “We have all had our fair share of dark moments in this band and this song seemed to sum up both the struggle of those dark moments along with the fact that none of us are an island and that we all need each other to get through the worst times in life.”
