A Permanent Shadow to release teaser mash-up ‘Killer Boys’OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Plus Music PR A Permanent Shadow is back with the new single ‘Killer Boys’, kicking off a reminiscence of carefree, youthful summers with a cover mashup of Adamski’s ‘Killer’ and Sabrina’s 80s hit ‘Boys (Summertime Love).’ Leading the project A Permanent Shadow is CP Fletcher, the only permanent fixture, surrounding himself with a rotating cast of musicians and producers. To start the year off right, the band is set to release a new EP, Summertime Love, recorded at Barcelona’s Mini Blind Studios in a few short weeks. The frontman explains the project, “With this new covers EP, I wanted to honour the memories of a carefree time when the summer holidays were soundtracked by seminal hits that resonate to this day.” AboutCP took his first steps as a frontman when he formed a Lou Reed tribute project, The Magic and Loss Orchestra. Such is his admiration for the curmudgeon from New York that the tribute experience ended up bleeding into A Permanent Shadow via a cover of ‘Sword of Damocles,’ originally featured on Reed’s Magic and Loss album. Joining CP on A Permanent Shadow is Albert Català, a classically trained piano player and Valentín Nieto provides the finishing touches in the studio. Drawing from Iggy Pop Scott Walker, Gary Numan and Nine Inch Nails as well as Editors and LCD Soundsystem, A Permanent Shadow blends old and new, encompassing post-punk, funk-punk and synth-pop.
