Following on from a busy 2024, Becca James returns with her first earthy new single ‘God In Chains’, as the title track and lead single of her captivating and world-building debut album. The album will unfold over two parts and centre upon trauma healing, exploring the chains, both societally and personally, that separate us from our divine selves. The single release will be accompanied by a visualiser exploring Divine Feminine archetypes connecting to nature, starting with Hecate, a goddess of magic, crossroads, boundary setting and transformation.

Peering across the airwaves with a harmonic synth intro, Becca James’ ethereal vocal quickly makes its mark for the first time in 2025. Coupling together sentimental melodies with heartfelt sonic sentiments, the track blends alt-pop and rock to forge an exciting new ballad, brimming with tales of evolution.

“God in Chains is an initiation song that fully immerses the listener with the album's recurrent theme of death, rebirth and transformation. The single highlights humanity's crossroads, urging us to reconnect with vulnerability and choose healing amid chaos. Originally an A Cappella demo, the song evolved into the fully fledged production it is today with the help of producer Péter Nyitrai aka NYPE. One of the most memorable moments of making the record was bringing together beloved friends, all of whom are incredible artists and writers themselves, whom I am blessed to have lent their talents to record the choir section you can hear at the end of the track.”
