PJ Harvey has given fans a taste of her next single.

The musician is due to unleash her new track on BBC 6 Music on Thursday (January 21).

However, the Brit has previewed the song with a short video on Twitter.

The message added: "Tune in to Steve Lamacq on @BBC6Music from 4pm GMT Thursday for the exclusive first play of PJ Harvey's new single."

PJ Harvey meanwhile will release her ninth studio record in the spring of 2016.

She recorded the album in a series of public sessions at London's Somerset House in January.

The singer went to work with producers in a glazed architecturally-designed studio in front of an audience.
