PJ Harvey is on course to bag her first ever UK No.1 album

PJ Harvey is in pole position to land her first ever No.1 album in the UK.

The Official Charts Company revealed today (April 18) at her new record 'The Hope Six Demolition Project' is top of the pile.

Her ninth album is over 2,500 units ahead of its nearest competitor, Santana's new entry 'Santana IV'.

PJ Harvey's best chart performance in the UK to date is with 1993's 'Rid of Me', which reached No.3.

At No.3 on the midweek update is Adele's '25', while Sia's 'This Is Acting' rises five places to No.4.

Rounding off the top five is Aled Jones' 'One Voice'.

A re-release of David Bowie's 'The Man Who Sold The World' is in at No.8, while Andre Rieu’s 'Magic Of The Waltz' is a new entry at No.17.
