BRITs Rising Star winners and BBC’s Sound of 2024 The Last Dinner Party have exclusively signed with UK music licensing company PPL for the collection of their international neighbouring rights royalties. The five-piece band, who topped the charts in February with their debut album ‘Prelude to Ecstasy’, join a host of artists who have already signed with PPL for international collections this year, including Lewis Capaldi, Ice Spice, FLO, London Grammar and Kenya Grace.

The Last Dinner Party have had a meteoric rise to the top, from playing some of the UK’s smallest independent venues in 2023 to headlining London’s Roundhouse earlier this year and touring across Europe, Asia Pacific and North America since. They return home to play the Reading and Leeds festival this weekend, followed by a large UK and European tour.

The band received the BRITs Rising Star Award in December 2023, and the BBC’s Sound of 2024 accolade swiftly followed. The cherry on top of the cake was a number one album in the UK, achieving one of the biggest sales weeks of the 21st century for a debut album by a British guitar band. Just last month, 'Prelude to Ecstasy’ was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. Between April 2023 and May 2024, The Last Dinner Party accumulated over 688,000 seconds of airplay, equivalent to eight days of continuous play. The debut single ‘Nothing Matters’ makes up 62% of their airplay, with ‘Sinner’ in second place.

Headquartered in London, PPL licenses the use of recorded music in the UK and collects neighbouring rights royalties on behalf of performers and recording rightsholders worldwide. On signing with PPL, The Last Dinner Party will now benefit from the expertise of its 200+ team, cutting-edge data processing technology, and a network of over 110 agreements with collective management organisations (CMOs) internationally, as the company begins to collect royalties on the band’s behalf for the use of their music on radio, TV and in public spaces around the world.
