'Glee' cast beats a Beatles' Billboard Hot 100 record

From 1964-1996 (‘Real Love’) the Beatles scored 71 songs in the American chart to top all charts, the Billboard Hot 100. In less than 18 months, the ‘Glee’ cast has surpassed that incredible figure, achieving more than 75 songs of its own (and also passing the records of Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin for good measure). The biggest ‘Glee’ hit to date? Its cover of Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ (11.5 million downloads).

Given, it’s not an entirely fair comparison. ‘Glee’ releases five or six songs for download from each show. And these days, singles need sell way fewer copies to make the chart. And besides, The Beatles still have the last laugh and the best record. They are the only act in history to score 20 number ones on the same chart.
