Sex Pistols’ ‘Jonesy’ back on the air in LA

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones has been most famous of late in LA as a DJ and host of an eclectic show on Indie 103.1 called ‘Jonesy’s Jukebox’.

In 2009 the radio station folded and Jones too shut up shop, much to the disappointment of thousands of devoted Los Angelenos.

Audiences are rejoicing then at the news that Jones is returning to radio, and a much bigger forum, legendary LA rock station KROQ (pronounced KRock). Jones’ first show is this Sunday from 7-9pm LA time.

It was guitarist Jones who famously coined the name ‘Johnny Rotten’ for the Sex Pistols’ lead singer John Lydon, reportedly because of the terrible state of his teeth.
