Nas' email to Def Jam bosses leaked

Rapper Nas has never been backward in coming forward.

Now an email, supposedly written by him to the heads of his label Def Jam, has been leaked.

Though a Def Jam source told the LA Times the email is a fake, that person refused to go on the record.

The subject seems to be the release of Nas' 'The Lost Tapes: Volume 2', a sequel to a 2002 collection of unreleased songs. Nas tweeted in September that the compilation would be released December 14. His email suggests otherwise.

"Honestly, nobody even cares what label puts out a great record, they care about who recorded it. Yet time and time again it's the executives who always stand in the way of a creative artist’s dream and aspirations. You don’t help draw the truth from my deepest and most inner soul, you don’t even do a great job @ selling it."

Def Jam had no further comment on the email or release plans for those 'Lost Tapes'.
