MAY 31, 2023 - Finnish alt-rock outfit Heart Tide is sharing their thunderous new single 'Carousel'. Bolstered by darkly comedic lyrics, fierce delivery and a glass-shattering breakdown, the new song features a much heavier sound for the band than it has had before. The accompanying lyric video released on the same day reflects this with its foreboding menace while also introducing new shades to Heart Tide's visuals.

''Keep your friends close and your enemies in the trunk of your car.'' - A line that quickly establishes the single's overall tone.

''It felt right to make something that has more intensity. I really wanted to explore musically—and I definitely think this is something new and exciting for Heart Tide and myself—but also combine that with tragicomedy that I enjoy when writing lyrics and performing them. That juxtaposition I think serves the track's fluidity when it comes to genres it's exploring as well. Hopefully it all makes you think.'', frontperson Samu Hietainen tells us about the song.

'Carousel' follows Heart Tide's previous single from last fall, a heartfelt indie rock anthem 'Miss Your Calls' and its three remix versions. Hietainen has also been busy elsewhere, unveiling tracks like 'Gudinnor' and 'Made Of Ice' recently under his own name as he's been getting ready to release albums in the world of contemporary classical music. More to come, that is for sure.

Heart Tide is a musical project and band of composer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Samu Hietainen, born in Finland, having conquered genres and styles such as alternative, rock and pop. Its previous releases include a two-part mixtape 'Vulnerable', both parts featuring five songs, as well as standalone singles 'Blame', 'Few Things', 'They Say', 'Where Do We Go?' and 'Miss Your Calls'.
