Pulp to collect NME's outstanding contribution to music award

Pulp are set to be honoured at this year's NME Awards with the outstanding contribution to music award.

The event, which takes place in London on February 29, will also see the band perform live.

The outstanding contribution to music award, which is sponsored by the Teenage Cancer Trust, will be given to Jarvis Cocker and Co. as they head towards a short American tour in April.

Speaking about the legendary band, NME editor Krissi Murison said:

"Pulp are one of the wittiest, cleverest and most brilliant bands the UK has ever produced."

As previously reported, former Oasis man Noel Gallagher has been lined up to collect this year's Godlike Genius award as his solo career goes from strength to strength.
