Today, Academy Award® nominated actress and multi-platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld has shared the official music video for her new song, “Afterlife (Dickinson),” from the upcoming Apple TV+ series Dickinson.

Hailee reunited with acclaimed director Hannah Lux Davis (Ariana Grande, Halsey, Kacey Musgraves) to create a visual that draws from the song’s deeply afflicting and raw lyrics while giving subtle nods to Dickinson.

Released earlier this month via Island Records, “Afterlife (Dickinson)” has already amassed over 6 million streams.

Upon release, Rolling Stone described it as a “haunting, buoyant pop song,” Billboard called it both “moody” and “sparkling,” while Idolator declared, “she ups the ante...the track is darker and more poetic than any of her previous singles.”

For “Afterlife (Dickinson),” Hailee drew inspiration from her character, Emily Dickinson, and the themes and ideas in many of her literary works, such as death and mortality. During a panel at Tribeca TV Festival this month, Hailee revealed how playing such a fearless character has inspired and informed her approach to writing new songs. Hailee serves as the star and an Executive Producer of Dickinson, which will be available on Apple TV+ November 1.
