22-year-old multidisciplinary London-based artist and Central Saint Martins student Raissa shares her first ever release, the self-recorded and -produced “Bullying Boys,” today. The accompanying music video—which she directed and edited on her iPhone—also debuts today. Watch here

“This is me being fully honest and vulnerable about the cost of being a girl who isn’t going to make herself small, or big or anything really, for anyone,” Raissa says. “To be valid as I am.”

Born (an Aries sun, Pisces moon, Libra ascendant) in Spain to a Spanish mother and an Algerian father, Raissa grew up between Kuala Lumpur, Beijing and Sydney and is fluent in French, Spanish and English. Now based in London where she studies cultural criticism and curation at the prestigious Central Saint Martins, Raissa attributes her inspiration to start writing songs at the age of 11 to Leonard Cohen. With much more music arriving imminently, Raissa finds inspiration in dialogue and narration from movies and cartoons in addition to everyday conversations between people.
