Academy Award® nominated actress and multi-platinum recording artist Hailee Steinfeld’s ‘Half Written Story,’ part 1 of her two-part project, is available everywhere now (Island Records).

Executive produced by Koz (Dua Lipa, Madonna), ‘Half Written Story’ encompasses an effervescent brand of pop that traverses an array of emotions and explores the many dimensions of heartache as demonstrated by the hopeful mood of lead single “I Love You’s” to the reflective ballad “Wrong Direction.”

“I am incredibly proud of this project and this collection of songs. It’s some of my most personal and favourite music I’ve released and I’m so excited it’s finally out for everyone to hear. I hope you enjoy,” says Hailee.

Hailee first revealed the two-part project last month with the release of “I Love You’s” and performed the lead single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week. View the intimate at home performance BELOW.

Praised as a “soaring break up anthem” by USA Today and heralded as “upbeat and catchy – the perfect type of song to play on repeat” by Glamour, “I Love You’s” has quickly amassed 29 million streams. Shortly after single release, Hailee shared the “empowering” (Harper’s BAZAAR) official video for the single which she directed alongside Sarah McColgan and has over 5 million views already.

In addition to “I Love You’s” and “Wrong Direction,” ‘Half Written Story’ features three new songs that demonstrate a newfound fearlessness, confidence and vulnerability to Hailee’s musicality and songwriting. On “Your Name Hurts,” she shares a raw and often-devastating outpouring of emotion, each lyric showcasing her powerful vocal command. “Man Up” matches Steinfeld’s swaggering flow with a tongue-in-cheek vocal sample used to brilliantly scathing effect. Meanwhile, “End this (L.O.V.E.)” offers up a burst of untamed imagination, cleverly twisting a classic love-song sentiment with its warped beats and piercing lyrics (e.g., “‘L’ is for the way you lied to me”).

Part 2 will be released this summer.
