Last night, Wednesday 26th August, global superstar Ellie Goulding gave fans around the world a spellbinding performance from the iconic V&A (Victoria & Albert Museum) in London during her one-off exclusive pay-per-view live streamed gig, presented by LIVENow, for “The Brightest Blue Experience”.

Ellie performed a number of tracks from her chart topping new album “Brightest Blue” as well as some fan favourites and was joined by friends and collaborators Diplo, Lauv and blackbear, via video link, throughout the show. The stream was also broadcast via three additional timezones to cater to audiences across the globe from North, South and America as well as Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

As Ellie moved throughout the world famous museum in London for various parts of the show she was joined by dancer Nafisah Baba (BBC Young Dancer 2017) who brought the performance together with her elegant movements. In the main room Ellie was accompanied by an ensemble of live musicians and backing singers which brought her music alive in ways never heard before by fans.

Speaking about the event Ellie states “Wow! What an evening! Thank you so much to everyone who watched the show. It feels so good to be performing live again, especially being surrounded by so many incredibly talented musicians to bring these songs to life. We wanted to make the show as special as possible so I really hope you all enjoyed it. I can’t wait to be performing in front of you all again and to hear you sing them back at me.”

Ellie’s outfits last night was created by dutch designer RVDK (Ronald van der Kemp). The bespoke bright red fitted robe manteau in satin back crepe with a pink belted overskirt in shocking pink techno duchesse and powder pink silk mousseline, were all created with leftover fabric and vintage collections from the Ronald van der Kemp archives, following the Eco-Age Green Carpet Challenge principles - an initiative to ensure that sustainable fashion is highlighted and celebrated in high impact.

Ellie’s new album “Brightest Blue” has been applauded by critics across the globe with The Guardian stating it’s “a triumph of heart and ambition” and “her best yet”, whilst Variety claim the album is her “best and most complete work, a lovelorn mess of emotions atop a mass of vibrant soundscapes.” The album is presented in two parts, the first 13 tracks are the thoughtful contemplations that make up Brightest Blue (executively produced by Ellie Goulding & Joe Kearns) and the second part, EG.0, consists of huge pop bangers with collaborators including Lauv, Swae Lee and the late JUICE WRLD. Across the two halves Ellie enlisted a number of writers and producers to help create the finished product, including the likes of Tobias Jesso Jr., Starsmith, ILYA, serpentwithfeet, Patrick Wimberly (of Chairlift) and Jim Eliot amongst others.
