TAYO SOUND RELEASES BRAND NEW TRACK ‘FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS’BRAND NEW UK HEADLINE TOUR ANNOUNCEDOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Satellite 414 “Tayo Sound is alt-pop’s new heartbroken teen hero” i-D Up-and-coming Nigerian/Scottish musician TAYO SOUND today releases the brand new single ‘FORWARD AND BACKWARDS’ via Black Butter/Arista Records, listen now. ‘Forwards and Backwards’, Tayo Sound’s second single of the year after his collaboration with Oscar Scheller on ‘Two Left Feet’, pushes the young talent even further with joyful and optimistic melodies overlaid with lyrics pondering the breakdown of a relationship; “‘Forwards and Backwards’ is about an unhealthy relationship that kinda feels like a tug of war. Melodically it’s very Jon Bellion inspired. Finn Keane (Charli XCX) wrote the guitar part, Frances (Dua Lipa, Holly Humberstone) the hook and then I had the verse melody and the rest came together really quickly. I wanted it to feel bouncy but lyrically really sad, which is kind of the whole point of the song, a constant battle between the good and the bad of a breaking relationship.” After performing an incredible set for a hometown crowd at Reading Festival last year alongside a sold out show at London’s Jazz Cafe, this September Tayo will embark on his biggest UK tour to date starting in Bristol and going via The Grace in London before hitting Manchester, Nottingham and Leeds. Tickets here. This April Tayo will also be on tour with Australian rapper Allday and then in June with viral alt-R&B star Cautious Clay. Having recently working with the likes of Blake Slatkin (Lil Nas X, Kid Laroi), Josh Scarbrow (Arlo Parks, Etta Marcus), Rob Milton (Holly Humberstone, Easy Life, Maisie Peters) and Courage (Ray BLK, Stormzy), Tayo is set to release some of his most accomplished music to date in 2022, building upon on his already critically acclaimed back catalogue which includes singles ‘Cold Feet’, ‘Gone’, ‘Someone New’ and ‘Heartbreaker’. Tayo has also seen fantastic radio support from the likes of BBC Radio 2’s Jo Wiley and BBC Radio 1’s Greg James, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart and Jack Saunders, (with ‘Someone New’ receiving BBC Introducing ‘Track of the Week’). Upcoming Live Shows
