(September 30, 2022 – Los Angeles, CA) – Today, buzzing pop punk superstar Leah Kate releases her new single “Monster” via 10K Projects/MDDN.

Leah Kate also announces her upcoming EP Alive and Unwell, arriving on October 28th. The project will feature the new track, alongside recent single “Life Sux” and her breakout smash “10 Things I Hate About You,” which has now surpassed 260 million global streams, been used in over 780K videos on TikTok, and zoomed into the Top 20 at Pop Radio.

Tapping into her signature rock-leaning sound, “Monster” serves as the ultimate clap back to the haters. “Go run your mouth and keep putting dirt on my name,” she sings before diving into the chorus, “watch me turn into a monster.” As the verses continue, Leah highlights the sad extent trolls will go to try to bring her down before delivering the ultimate f-you, “but when you make me famous, you’ll be the first one I thank.”

In the past 6 months, the Los Angeles-based popstar has proved her staying power cultivating a fanbase of over 5 million monthly Spotify listeners, while garnering attention from the likes of Billboard, Rolling Stone, Alt Press, Stereogum and more. Meanwhile, she spent earlier this year joining Madison Beer on tour across seas before returning to the states to perform alongside Chase Atlantic on their Cold Nights Summer tour. Up next, she heads back across seas at the end of October for her headline tour, kicking off on in Dublin before hitting major European cities and ending in Hamburg, Germany.

About

ABOUT LEAH KATE:

Leah Kate writes pop/rock anthems that cut to the bone. Pairing booming, radio-ready choruses with dizzying, hyper-specific detail, her songs are intimate, relatable, and razor-sharp—the sort of tracks that resonate with listeners around the world. With the success of the biting breakup song “10 Things I Hate About You,” the Los Angeles native is realizing her dreams of pop stardom by reaching deep into her innermost feelings and sharing them with us. It’s the perfect introduction to pop’s most candid new voice. A snippet of the track went nuclear on TikTok, and Kate was inundated with requests for the full song. Days later, “10 Things I Hate About You” was out, and it’s zoomed past 20 million streams in its first month. Since taking her first singing lesson at 5, Kate knew that music was her destiny. Even when it was hard to muster the motivation for school and work, she always hustled as a songwriter. And when the pandemic hit, she went all in. She penned the empowering “Fuck Up the Friendship,” which eventually found an audience on TikTok. Feeling momentum building, Kate got to work, partnering with tech giant Alexis Ohanian via the music investment platform Indify. She found her sound with “F U Anthem” (another ode to the chump who inspired “10 Things”), and she began to marry crushing rock riffs to sugar-rush choruses. Now the singer’s long-awaited pop vision is coming true. Proving people wrong is just a bonus: “I spent so much time concerned about other people's opinions—and now I don’t care. I’m living my dream."
