REM 'Collapse Into Now'

The much-anticipated follow-up to R.E.M’s ‘Accelerate’ LP in 2008, will be unveiled to the masses next Spring.

The band’s 15th studio album ‘Collapse Into Now’ was co-produced with Garret “Jacknife” Lee (U2, Bloc Party, Editors) during recording sessions in Portland and New Orleans.

"Postcards" on the group's official website revealing images from their studio sessions, have also shown that Berlin has been a big inspiration for their latest work:

"Berlin is a pulsing, exciting city with so many varied and distinctive neighbourhoods, iconic history all around, great food at all levels and from every corner of the world . . . an excellent place to set up camp and make a great record”, wrote the band.

The new LP was recorded at Hansa Studios in Berlin, where U2 also laid down tracks for their classic album ‘Achtung Baby’.
