Vanderwolf Releases New Single Twice In A LifetimeA Raw Examination Of Artistic Mythology And ExploitationOFFICIAL PRESS RELEASENEWS PROVIDED BY Rick Eberle Agency Vanderwolf returns with Twice in a Lifetime, the latest release in the Vanderwolf Singles Club. The track is an unflinching critique of the mythologization and exploitation of musicians & artists that is so prevalent in the capitalist culture where all language, ideas and art are instantaneously co-opted. Streaming platforms, record labels and corporate promoters squeeze every drop of blood out of a single penny in order to meet shareholders expectations. The song also addresses mythology and martyrdom in popular culture - Janis, Jerry, Jimi, Marley, Morrison, Lennon, Cobain - all of them celebrated, marketed, mythologized, and re-marketed. "I decided to approach this video more literally than I would normally consider, but it felt like the best way to put this tale on screen. I reached out to New York Filmmaker George Panagakos and asked if he could interpret the narrative through animation. He did not disappoint. Scorsese had 'Last Temptation of Christ', Terry Jones had 'Life of Brian', and we've got 'Twice in a Lifetime'.'' The visually striking music video seamlessly weaves through several styles, telling the story through character study, symbology and allegory. Joseph Campbell discusses the importance of accepting death as rebirth, as in the myth of the buffalo and countless biblical tales, and rockstars are constantly reborn in box-sets, books, and bio-pics. In "Twice in a Lifetime", the story of Christ is neatly aligned with our favorite martyred rock stars. Paraphrasing Patti Smith, ''Kurt Cobain died for somebody's sins, but not mine.'' The single and video are set for release on April 23rd, 2025. Listen/Follow:● Website vanderwolfmusic.com For press inquiries, interviews, or more information, please contact:
