Robbie Williams said he was busy to avoid daughter's parents' evening

Singer Robbie Williams has revealed that he told a little white lie to get out of attending his daughter Teddy's parents' evening because the thought of being in a roomful of people made him anxious.

Speaking to The Mirror newspaper recently, Williams confessed that he doesn't like to be around big crowds:

"I don't like that many people. It's rare I get into the room and go, 'Yeah, I like that person and that person,' out of 5,000 people, let alone being thrown into a room full of parents. That scares me. There was a parent evening for the nursery Teddy goes to and it filled me full of fear."

He went onto add that going to a parents' evening for a child that is only two-years-old seemed a little redundant: "It was either take a Valium and go or pretend I've got to be in the studio... and that gets me out of everything. So I pretended I was in the studio. What are we going to talk about? Teddy isn't even three. I don't know what we were supposed to talk about."
