The management team for Robbie Williams has been found to be putting tickets for his 2017 tour on sale through resale ticketing websites for significantly higher prices. 

The BBC's Victoria Derbyshire programme has revealed that ie:music put tickets for the star's upcoming jaunt on sites such as Seatwave and Get Me In for much more than the Ticketmaster price, but Ie:music has not yet responded to requests for a statement.

A statement from Ticketmaster, however, confirms that these new higher price tickets (or "platinum" tickets) have been set that way after a conversation with "the event organisers". It reads:

"Platinum tickets are a very small percentage of the best seats in the house that are priced according to demand, in consultation with our clients, the event organisers. The UK live events industry has been successfully using platinum for many years so that the full value of these tickets goes back to the rights holders and not to resellers."

Williams' management, ie:music, signed a petition back in 2015 which vowed to fight against "insider exploitation of tickets for music" and explained that "tens of thousands of fans have been ripped off by people who exploit fair ticket prices via so-called ticket marketplaces. In many cases the intended audience is being priced out of the market altogether."
