Robbie Williams and Leona Lewis for Oxford St. Christmas lights switch on

Robbie Williams has the honour of turning on the Christmas lights at London's Oxford Street this year.

The busy street will transform into festive cheer on November 5 as Williams hits the switch and turns on the street's 300,000 bulbs.

He will also perform at the event, with Leona Lewis and Lawson also on the bill as support.

Speaking about the event, Williams said: "Oxford Street is a fantastic place to do your Christmas shopping and it's great to be part of the celebrations. I can't believe I am turning on the lights! 'Take the Crown' is released on the same day - 5th November - and I'm looking forward to performing for the amazing crowds on London's Oxford Street."

This year's Christmas lights event will be ticketed, with punters asked to apply for the free tickets via Heart 106.2's website from Monday (October 29).
