Robbie Williams wants to top Knebworth with 2013 tour

Robbie Williams is looking to better his landmark Knebworth gigs with his newly announced stadium tour next year.

The singer performed to 375,000 people over three nights at the outdoor venue in 2003, with the shows going down in live music history.

The Take That man announced on Monday (November 26) that he would be playing a batch of stadium shows next year in the UK as part of a wider European tour.

Speaking at the launch of his 2013 tour, which will see Olly Murs support, the 'Take The Crown' star said:

"It's going to be six or seven months of heavy thinking and me getting myself in shape. Knebworth is supposed to be the apex of my career, and the best gig I've ever done and I'm challenging myself to beat that."

Williams continued: "I know there is a forum for a male solo star to get up there in stadiums and own the place and I want that to be me."
