Robbie Williams has given up on trying to break America

Robbie Williams has admitted that he isn't bothered about trying to become a success in the US.

The British star is a household name in his home country but despite flirting with fame in America, he hasn't made much of an impact across the pond.

Speaking to a Croatian newspaper, Williams confessed that he doesn't want to go through the rigours of promoting himself in the US again following a hard stint there after releasing a 1999 retrospective collection. He said:

"When I released my compilation album 'The Ego Has Landed' I went to America for two months to promote it. The album sold one million copies. That was not bad. But I don't want to work that hard."

The 'Take The Crown' man continued: "I've concluded not to try it again. After that I did not promote any album in the US. A lot of fame can be exhausting. I would hardly be able to cope with it [in the US]."
